As I look at my career, I realize that it has been a beautiful journey filled with learning, growth, and passion.

From my early days at the Paul Da Costa Aveda Institute to my recent years as a Master Stylist at TRiM Hair Salon, I have always strived to combine my love for hair with my love for business.

I have spent the past two decades seeking out various education and personal development programs, from the bustling streets of New York to the serene beauty of Vancouver.

I have completed classes at Bumble & Bumble University, the Aveda Advanced Academy program, and the La Biosthetique Colour and Business classes.

I am proud to hold the position of a Certified Color Educator, a testament to my dedication and commitment to excellence. Throughout my career, I have owned four successful salons, each one a testament to my passion for creating an atmosphere where clients can feel at home and express their individuality.

Today, as the owner of TRiM Hair Salon on Main Street, I continue to bring my unique vision to life, creating a space where creativity flourishes and beauty abounds. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a client leave my salon with a smile and a bounce in their step, knowing that I have helped them craft their individuality.

I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way, and I look forward to continuing this journey of growth, learning, and passion.

Hi! I am Joshua, and as a Senior Stylist at TRiM, I bring over 22 years of hair and makeup experience to the team. My passion for this industry is unwavering, and I am always eager to bring my creativity, outgoing nature, and ambition to every project. This dedication has allowed me to truly shine in my career in hair.

My expertise lies in vivid colour and rainbow tones, a skill I have honed through extensive training. I am a La Biosthetique Master Colourist, a Beauty Expert Certification holder, and a Vidal Sassoon ABC Cut Certified professional. My specialties include creating vibrant blondes, stunning balayage, colour melts and corrections, and seamless tape extensions that are virtually undetectable.

Outside of work, I am an active and adventurous individual. I enjoy a good work-out, hiking in the hills, and exploring the city’s live shows in my newest thrifted gems. I also find relaxation in the latest video games, a hobby that keeps me balanced and refreshed.

My journey in the hair industry is a continuous one, driven by my passion for learning and growth. I am excited about my upcoming Vidal Sassoon training in the UK, more travel, and further education with colour systems, all of which will enhance my skills and knowledge.

In the meantime, catch me in Fairview hanging out at the Portland Craft patio, taking in a play at the Stanley Theatre, enjoying Granville Island, and enjoying a stroll along the seawall enjoying nature and the views.

Hi! I am Paula, and my friends describe me as charismatic, kind, and oh-so fabulous. I am originally from the north end of Winnipeg, but my favourite place today is Port Moody, which is in beautiful BC. There, I get to immerse myself in the incredible beauty of Rocky Point Park and hike the Jug Island Trail, capturing the stunning scenery and sunsets on my cell. My love for nature extends past hiking! I adore a day of biking followed by chilling by the beach, basking in the beauty of the world around me.

As a trans woman, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and resilience, channeling my passion for hair throughout high school. When friends and family needed help, I was there with my tools and makeup, creating the best version of themselves for special events like graduation, parties, and other life events.

During the pandemic, I added entrepreneur to my skill set by buying/selling beauty products online. These products are mostly lashes and lip products. My dream is to grow this business and someday partner with salons like TRiM!

I am filled with excitement and ambition for the next five years. My dreams include travelling and experiencing the wonders of the world, becoming a hair content creator online, and growing into the role of a colourist educator with renowned brands like Aveda or La Biosthetique.

I genuinely love coming into TRiM each shift, knowing that my work and I will put a smile on someone’s face and boost their confidence!

Hi! I am Ayumi, bringing over ten years of salon experience to the TRiM Team. My passion is cutting, colouring, chemical treatments, and hairstyling. I am eager to collaborate with each of you, not only to meet our clients’ hair needs but also to design a suitable hair care routine, be aware of their scalp health, and collaboratively find the perfect style. This collaborative process is what I find most gratifying.

While I love Main Street and the incredible community that supports TRiM, I consider myself a resident of Vancouver. It is such a diverse, welcoming, and beautiful city. I love stumbling upon unique local shops and tiny boutiques, grabbing a latte and sightseeing, and ending the day with a delicious meal at some little restaurant or bakery.

I am thrilled about continuing my education. It’s interesting how my perspective has changed over the years. As a child, I didn’t care for school, but as an adult, I am always looking for new things to study, researching new interests, or finding a way to improve my skills. I am currently working on my green thumb and enjoying nature while hiking, always seeking new ways to grow and learn.

Graduating from Blanche Macdonald was just the starting point for me! I am dedicated to the craft of hairdressing and look forward to collaborating with stylists and others in the beauty industry to create unforgettable moments and learn the art of mastery—haircut, colours, updo style, and more. My dedication to this craft is what I believe will contribute to our team’s success.

At TRiM, I feel a strong sense of belonging. The pace, the organization, and the open-mindedness of everyone here are truly inspiring. The Team is not just friendly, but also special in their dedication to their craft. I am confident that their support and motivation will continue to fuel my creativity and drive in everything I do at TRiM!

Hi! I am Bree, and I bring a wealth of experience and a true passion for transforming hair into vibrant works of art. With my background in fashion-forward colour techniques and predicting the hottest new trends, let me bring your hair fantasies to life!

After graduating from Blanche Macdonald in 2012, I spent the next year training and honing my skills with the Michael Levine Salon Group and at a salon in Kitsilano, one of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods. During this time, I had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients with different needs.

In 2018, I embarked on a journey of continuous learning, taking various classes through Goldwell (men’s cutting, creative styling, balayage, colour correction), and even trained to be an educator. My dedication was recognized when I won the Goldwell Colorzoom People Choice Award. At Barber & Co, I furthered my skills with a straight razor course, and at Deva Curl, I perfected the art of curly haircuts and styles. This commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry ensures that I can always offer you the latest and best in hair styling.

When I’m not busy creating vibrant hair styles, I am nesting and creating a welcoming home for my first child in the beautiful Renfrew-Collingwood. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like walking the dog or working out, and I also indulge in everything Bravo! My guilty pleasures encompass everything from The Real Housewives to Vanderpump Rules. Sharing these interests with you, I hope to create a sense of connection and familiarity that will make your salon experience even more enjoyable.
